Einzelstudie

Aufwachsen in Deutschland:Alltagswelten

The survey Growing Up in Germany (“Aufwachsen in Deutschland: Alltagswelten” – short AID:A) is a multi-actor study about the living conditions, experiences and well-being of children, adolescents, young adults and their families in Germany. AID:A is a central component of the German Youth Institute's (DJI) survey research and data has been collected repeatedly since 2009. The AID:A population consists of 0-32-year old target persons (ZP) and their household members. With around 6,000 households and over 11,700 interviews, AID:A 2019 marked the start of a new nationwide longitudinal cohort. AID:A 2023 is the second main wave of data collection within the longitudinal cohort initiated in AID:A 2019. Following the interim survey in 2021, the 2023 wave continues the survey cycle, which includes main waves every four years and interim surveys every two years. The 2023 study includes both panel participants from the original AID:A 2019 sample and a refreshment sample.
As with the previous waves, AID:A 2023 gathers information on family structures, social inequalities, education, employment, leisure activities, and well-being. The study enables in-depth longitudinal analyses of developmental pathways and living environments in Germany.
AID:A 2023 is fully funded by the institutional budget of the German Youth Institute (DJI).

Datensätze

SPSS-Daten Personen (2023)
The person-level data file “personen.dta” is the most comprehensive dataset published for the 2023 wave. It integrates information gathered from the household interview, the self-report interviews, the proxy interviews, and the parent interviews, stored at the person-level. It is further enriched with data that was collected in 2019 and not re-surveyed from panel participants in 2023 (e.g., country of birth), as well as with generated variables (e.g., composed sociodemographic indices and psychometric scales), as well as method- and para-data. In this dataset, each row represents one individual, and each column one variable. Each person is uniquely identifiable via the variable INTNR.
Die Datei enthält 28.320 Zeilen und 1.020 Spalten (37.00 MByte).

SPSS-Daten Haushalt (2023)
In the household-level data file “haushalt.dta,” one row corresponds to one household, identifiable by the variable HHLFD. The dataset contains information about the household, including generated variables, method- and para-data on the household level, as well as household weights. All data from the household data file is also included in the person-level data file. It is published separately for convenience. Because the person-level data file can be overwhelming with its extensive information, the household-level data file contains all relevant information and can be used for analyses on the household level.
Die Datei enthält 5.723 Zeilen und 89 Spalten (1.35 MByte).

SPSS-Daten Episoden (2023)
The episode block is the part of the questionnaire in AID:A 2023 where respondents provide information about their educational and employment biographies after leaving school for the first time. These biographies are divided into chronological episodes of different types of activities (e.g., periods of school attendance, employment, unemployment, etc.). The episode dataset, “episoden_panel.dta” is stored in long format (i.e., with one row per episode and several episodes per person). The episodes of each person are numbered in ascending order (variable sn or “spell number”). One column corresponds to one variable. Because for panel respondents, educational and employment biographies were updated in 2023 based on their recorded episodes from 2019 and 2021, “episoden_panel.dta” integrates information on episodes available from all waves, where data was collected.
Die Datei enthält 23.472 Zeilen und 35 Spalten (1.89 MByte).
