Einzelstudie

AID:A

The combined and enriched data from AID:A 2019, AID:A 2021 and AID:A 2023 enable comprehensive longitudinal analyses of the development and lives of children, adolescents, young adults and their families in Germany. Three data sets are available: Longitudinal data at the individual level (long format), episodic data on educational and occupational trajectories and triadic panel data on post-separation families. Details on the realized data collection as well as the available data sets and special features of data checking, processing and enrichment are described in the Technical Report.
The survey Growing Up in Germany (“Aufwachsen in Deutschland: Alltagswelten” – short AID:A) is a multi-actor study about the living conditions, experiences and well-being of children, adolescents, young adults and their families in Germany. AID:A is a central component of the German Youth Institute's (DJI) survey research and data has been collected repeatedly since 2009. The AID:A population consists of 0-32-year old target persons (ZP) and their household members. With around 6,000 households and over 11,700 interviews, AID:A 2019 marked the start of a new nationwide longitudinal cohort.
AID:A 2023 is fully funded by the institutional budget of the German Youth Institute (DJI).
