Studiengruppe
The study „An indicator-based monitoring of structural quality in the German early childhood education and care system” (ERiK) consists of five surveys that target the following populations every two years (2020, 2022, 2024, 2026):
Data from the parent survey is published by the KiBS project. The ERiK data provide a representative multi-stakeholder-perspective on the quality of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) in Germany, and enable comparisons of the childcare situations between different German federal states. The data sets contain information on ECEC quality indicators that the project developed based on the Early Childhood Education and Care Act (KiQTG, January 2019).
The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (German: Bundesministerium für Bildung, Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend; BMBFSFJ).
Further details can be found on the project website and in the method reports . Data and documentation of the ERiK-Surveys up until 2024 can be found below.
